Happy New Year, Tom!

That tree looks just about as cold as I do with the temp going down to pretty much freezing every night for the next half a dozen nights.

Thank you, Lance. A Happy New Year to you in return. I saw the weather map, and I saw that a cold front is in your areas path. That tree was as cold as I was, for it was sub zero temperature when I took the picture on Christmas Eve day.

Sub-zero? Horrid!!
It's gonna be no more than 53, but mostly hovering betweem the 32 freezing mark and 45 for the next three days here. By Florida standards, which are mY standards, this is horrifically bad. And expensive.

I would trade my car for temperatures up to 45 to 53. But I do think 32 degrees with ice and snow (it's bad enough here) would be horrid for someone living in your area.

I might do that, but I dont have a car. The actual lowest I saw last night was 32 with a 'feels like' of 27. This morning, hours later, it had gone up to 33, still with an FL of 27.
The lowest I've ever seen it here was 18 degrees Fahrenheit. Not counting the 25 MPH wind. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHH
It must be brutal up north.
fl of 27.

It is brutal, but one thing i am grateful for, is that there isn't much snow up here. I think I would rather have it cold and clear than have a snowstorm. I don't mind seeing snow on the ground, but driving around when it is on the streets make me nervous. 18 degrees is bad enough in this frozen tundra let alone in a state like Florida. I do sympathize. Stay warm.

I got a new heater thursday that claims to be 1500 watts maximum, like pretty much every other little heater, but puts out about twice the heat of my old ones, including the one with the faulty thermostat that it replaced, It helps bigtime. And it blows the heat farther, too. We'll see if it is really that much more efficient when the electricity bill arrives. I've watched the meter, and it seems not to be using twice as much power.
