Well, I mean, if batman, a the go's of op, could be beaten by nothing more then a Venom junkie (bane)
What does that say about the safety of other heroes?
Better have some armor for the sake of assurance, amirite?

So bullet-proof. Ironman would have to step up his game. Course, Spiderman's leg armor is a wee bit bulky. Still, looks awesome!

well spideys is explainable for you see at the time in the comics he lost his spidey sense and would get more injured and one time shot so he did the smart thing got some body armor this is the mk1 version of the mk2 is like a tron suit. as for daredevil I wouldn't be surprised if he had a armored suit laying around

That silver Spidey armor reminds me of a power-up from the old PS1 Spider-Man game I had as a kid. I remember being terrified of the aptly named Monster Ock chase near the very end O_O

Great job on the silvery armored Spider-Man & the black, red & gray armored Dare-Devil! Every super hero has to change their look every now & then & given how dangerous their line of work can be some times, wearing a suit of protective armor doesn't seem like a bad ideal! Nice work, with the 2 of them swinging into action & the light reflecting of their armored metal costumes! Like the shine! Happy New Year!!!

Ah, the 1990s! The decade of extraneous bullshit in comics!
If it wasn't unnecessary armor, pads, or pouches on the heroes costumes, every other issue had some embossed/ holofoil/ gatefold/ pop-up/ scratch n' sniff cover! (polybagged with a trading card in it, of course.)

I always loved his Spider-Armor, and even though the Civil War Iron Spider armor/suit was cool it lacked the feel of the old Spider-Armor. Really good job on both Daredevil and Spider-Man ^^

Remembered the Spider-man armor from the 90's cartoon, not so much on the Daredevil.
Although as a kid I thought it got too much Inspector gadget as that story went on. O well.

I'm not sure why shoulder pads got so hip...
These days it's all about hoods.

O'yeah... great job. I think I like your coloring the best.

yea these armors weren't around too long..
but i remember being a kid and LOVING the daredevil armor..
not so much the spider-man armor...

as for shoulder pads.. i think liefeld started the craze with cable..
i thought shoulder pads were badass.. now i know better..
hoods eh? you're right!..

thanks for the kind words too!

ImpulsiveSpidercide [2011-11-04 20:46:44 +0000 UTC]

In Batman's case, it would make sense for him to wear armor because he's physically a normal human with no special innate resistance to injury, although he's often been able to push through pain by sheer willpower alone. Plus, the justification for him not wearing heavier armor is that it would make it harder for him to maneuver and make him cockier and more careless in how he dealt with his foes. Plus, it's all but canon that his suit is a form of advanced lightweight body armor, anyway . . . and speaking of lightweight body armor, Spider-Man designed a new armored suit in Amazing Spider-Man 656 for improved protection after losing his spider-sense in the previous storyline and realizing how comparatively vulnerable he was without it. The suit was actually designed with lightweight material he intended to use as Peter Parker for a reinvention of bike helmets, and it enabled him to take multiple bullets without injury . . . even to save the main villain's life because the previous storyline had left him psychologically scarred and vowing that he would never let anyone die on his watch, not even a murdering scumbag like the villain of the issue.

Long-winded exposition aside, I actually rather liked the Daredevil armor. Granted, it was a sign of how mentally screwed-up Matt Murdock was at the time, but it was one of the coolest byproducts of a psychological breakdown that I'd seen at the time. And Daredevil could use some armor, too, as other than his hyper-senses, he's mostly a physically normal human and thus just as vulnerable to bullets as any other human . . . even if his senses do enable him to dodge those bullets by sensing their motion through the air. Kudos.
