this is my fav among your art! The colors are sooo nice together, and the neck must be one of the most beautifull parts of the male body... Just to top it you've used the words of Damien Rice to describe the piece, A great, great artist. his lyrics often rings in my head aswell. And that one is deffently one of my favorites! sad, but beautifull song. Nice work! thats what I was going to say in the first way! kind of turned out to be somthing else...

This portrait is fantastic in many aspects. For one, the large black... wall/stripe/psuedo-frame lends to the very strong composition of the piece and works very well with the feeling. The colors seem as if they were once vibrant, but there's something dark masking over them, making them gloomy but still holding their vibrancy. The heaviness of the blackness of your hair seems as if it were a solid weight pressing down on you, and is keeping you down. The physicality of this makes you seem very mysterious, that or in a monstrous rage, or even a desperate need for isolation. Being able to see the slightest bit of your face makes it seem that you are ready for confrontation, ready to demand that you need to be left alone or whatever your need may be. The contrast between the texture [or the noise, but it's not distracting which is an amazing feat within itself] of the green wall and your shirt makes it seem that something is grating against yourself, and something smooth and lively is beating inside.

Absolutely brilliant! I love how this is a self-portrait and is definitely untraditional. The large black... wall/stripe/pseudo frame lends strength to the composition and all-around feeling of the portrait. The contrast and balance of the colors are subtle and yet striking at the same time. They add to the mood and your physicality. It gives off a mysterious vibe and leaves you wondering that if the emotions invoked by this is just in the mystery of your personality, a monstrous rage, a sense of desperation, or just the need to be left alone. The solid and heavy blackness of your hair seems to be a great weight on yourself, that there's something going on inside that's keeping you down.

I had to look at those lyrics for a really long time before I remembered what song it was. Then I looked lower and saw you wrote D. Rice, and I felt silly. Anyway, great picture. I love everything from the angle of your head and neck, and how your hair looks to the sort of muted, murky blue and yellow-green colors.
