My OC Lourde from Revenge of Rakazel:
A scene from the novel where Lourde try to escape from his house arrest to see the Mafuu festival:

[...No matter how Lourde looked at it: The path through the window was the only alternative left for him, because in the hallway he could meet a lot of people, who would meant the end of his trip.
The descent from the window, however, meant more difficulties than expected.
The stones were covered by wet and cold and the wind tore at his clothing as if it is Mafuu himself, who wanted to stop him.

From this position he could look down on the treetops that stretched in a row next to the house wall. In its imposing height it towered almost up to his window sill, but unfortunately only almost.

It had to be overcome, with some fortune he reached the branches below and get down to the tree. He put his hands against the window frame and slowly crouched down.

Maybe if he managed to climb down to the next window sill below he could reach the tree from there, but his forces were not sufficient for such an action.
He cursed that he had not been allowed to join the Knights Guard. For Captain Sabik that would be a childs play.

Little by little, he slid forward to the edge of the window sill to estimate his options. Damn, it was so deep. But when he just wanted to turn back into the protection of his room, it was already too late.
Dampness and gravity took its toll and he lose his footing on the slippery stone.

He slid deeper, his knees pushed hard against the window sill and stars flickered before his eyes. But the pain was enough to wake his instincts, just in time he cling to the ledge before he could fall into the abyss.

His heart was pounding excitedly, because each additional error could end badly now. He didn’t know in what condition he would end when he fall that deep from the top floor and he really didn’t want to find out…]
