Yes, it's kinda awful and annoying at first but when you get better at it it starts getting fun, you just have to get over the hilltop to see the amazingness of it all in the distance and realize that it's not impossible to do to get motivated. A lot like starting wit anything that has a step learning curve, nib pens for example are pretty much the same, in the beginning you can't stop dripping ink everywhere and it looks like your cat had been at it but after a few weeks of practice your f*ing picasso.
