The design is on sale. If someone buys it the design become his/hers, and he/she can use it for RP/writings/story,
that's how adopts work. It's the design that counts.

Yea. It's just like how the game production studios hire artist to design the characters for their games. The artists make the design then the company buys it to get the copyright to use it. It's the same, but this one is for non-commercial use only.
