Description This was a commissioned piece for of her fursona AshPaw.
Since I normally draw wolves, drawing a tiger proved a bit of a stretching exercise for me. I had to use a good photo ref for the face and I constantly referred back to her gallery to make sure I got the character right.
I actually restarted this one twice...I had a sketch I did in the very beginning that I ended up not liking, and then another that I had to toss out because I had forgot a couple of things and I just wasn't feeling the overall composition of the picture.
So I started again a third time and finally liked what I had sketched, and it took me just a week to get it all inked and colored. I'm really happy with the end product and I think I did pretty well considering I'm not real familiar with drawing tigers yet.
I had a lot of fun drawing someone else's character because it allowed me to practice some things I don't normally draw...I have more commissions lined up that will give me more practice in drawing animals other than wolves and I think with more practice, I'll get good at them as well.
A big THANK YOU to AshPaw for the commission and the chance to grow as an artist, I hope you like it!

Size is 9" x 12" on bristol paper, done with colored pencils as always.

Wow who would have thought the color scheme purple, gray and red would go so beautifully together. Never undermining I have a soft spot for tigers. The double wings while nicely blended are a little if-ish and I'm really not sure why... Though shading is good.

The double wings are part of the character so I had no choice in those, but if you're referring to my rendition of them I'm still perfecting my wing technique, especially with black feathers. Its mostly just a matter of learning how to slow down when I'm sketching them in and not try to rush through the anatomy. As much as I draw wings though I should be getting there.

Totally and sorry I was just pointing out what I saw, no offense intended and I still adore the over all piece. ^^

It's so fun to watch you create these pictures...even though I've been watching it all your life!

This is really lovely! There are so many parts of it I like they're hard to all point out. Most of all I like how you did the striping and feathers.. and the hair, and the skirt, and the fur.. etc!

Is this a character inside a tiger suit? The pink areas seem to show a suit unstitching. I love this piece - the colors are awesome, the pose is natural, and the proportions are spot on

She's all tiger, the stitches are just part of the character, you'd have to ask AshPaw what they mean.

Wow, I applaude your patience to get in so many details and still keep the colouring lovely and smooth, especially on those stripes and feathers, they look very natural and lightly textured :3

Very nicely done on the facial shape, very tiger-like, and the bright green woodland background really makes the gothic colours pop out!

My only issue would be that black dot at the very top, was that an ink spill or is it a hole? (is there something to be threaded through it?)
