Description A pony I did for fun during art class with some metallic paint and charcoal.

I like to use gold leaf in some of my paintings. I find metallic acrylics too runny, and when they dry, there is only flecks of gold. If you ever get the chance, try gold leaf.
Besides that, I love this piece. The shadow on the left contrasts the gold, making it shine.

Thanks you (and apologies for the late reply) I've seen gold leaf in your paintings and it indeed looks so perfectly metallic.^_^ I've noticed that with the acrylics I had to shift the paper to the light when taking the photo or it wouldn't look 'gold' at all, so I guess gold leaf is better than that?Β

Gold leaf is much better. But it's also pricey. But it gives great results.

Acrylic metal paint shouldn't cost too much. I bought my own, blue colored, for about $1.83 or so a few years ago. 2 fl. oz.
It's still quite a bit of paint, especially since you probably won't use a whole lot of it all the time with your style.Β

That's good to know, although the nearest store that would have those paints are far from home and my parents wouldn't take me all the way out there just to get that. I'm sure I can find some somewhere else, though.
