Hey everyone^^I was in the mood for drawing my favourite pony Spitfire again, I'm sorry for not being sorry
This drawing is inspired by 's drawing "Shape of You" since I sooo love the way the character is drawn so realistical, so perfect when it comes to anatomy and muscles, shading and cuteness^^ This is why I wanted to draw Spitfire in such a pose and style since quite some time and now it's done!
To be honest, I see a lot of things I would love to change or do better in future drawings and I see that it's not quite as good as Imalou's piece since I need more practice, but I'm super proud of it, anyways. Seriously, I'm more than happy with what it looks like and how the process went. I enjoyed working on it and listened to my favourite playlist over and over again while doing so. I am happy with how Spitfire's wings, her face and flank turned out. I would love to improve my mane and tail style in the future, but still need to figure out how to do so.

My pleasure. The MLP ponies have a mix of equines anatomy with alterations to make them look adorable (big head, big eyes), but with a shorter body. Despite them, they still look equines and beautiful.

That's the most important part. Though, I know a couple of artists who tend do go a bit closer to realistic-ish like you. Baron-Engel, Earthsong, Inuhoshi-to-Darkpen to name a few, keep your own style. It's good mix.
Or Soarin'. I'd tend to go with that one for her.

I know, they try to make them look even more like horses. I would like to keep it balanced to not get too realistic and dare to enter the uncanny valley.

It is very nice...the texture of the feathers, the lighting...though I the joint of the wings with the body looks very slim; and the shoulders are sticking way too high.

In tradition you do not like how you do her main and tail but there is nothing wrong with it. Spitfire's shoulders are a bit over done in this picture. They should be a bit smaller/sticking out of her back less. I think a little more space between the wings would be better. The way it is now it looks like Spitfire's spine is sticking out of her back. You draw the best wings I have ever seen. The feathers are so nicely done and are each unique. Spitfire's legs look like you have been studying equine anatomy. Did you know that horses have small kneecaps? I really like how you made the hind legs. It is very well done. You have it clearly shown that the leg connects to the hip and the stomach is under it. You did a good job with the shading in that area. I have seen a few draw it so the flank/barrel/legs all blob together. I am still not a Spitfire fan but I am starting to see why you like her. If only I had some way of knowing she is not a dick when she is not working I might like her. I can prove she is when working but that might just be at work for improved results. Spitfire was at the gala being nice to ponies but that might have been for an event where she had to be social.

I dunno, Mane and Tail do not look as lifely as they do in Tsitra360's drawings for example and it bothers me a little. I want them to look a little more lifely and realistic XD
I see what you mean with the shoulders and wings. I will try to fix this in my future drawings, but thank you for pointing it out

I've looked at references while working on Spitfire's legs, yeah XD but no, I actually did not know that before. Nevertheless, the more I know now and I'm happy that you like the way I drew them
And yeah, I know Spitfire is not a character for everyone, but I have a head canon in mind for her personality that makes her something special. ^^ I think this more or less naughty sometimes saddy personality has something interesting to it and I guess she can be a very good friend while also having her mean jokes from time to time.

I would love to say that it looks perfect but I just can't look away from those shoulders. They look very out of place like she has a hunchback. And with that her wings also look a bit off (the placement I mean).
