Before anyone calls 'WIMP', uh, THIS IS WHAT I DID. Silent Hill: Shattered Memories really isn't that scary a game unless you've really got something against being chased, but this one puzzle bothered me SO much. Just the idea of having someone else in there, just...watching Harry. Waiting for him to call.FFFFFFFF
If you get a chance, if you like Silent Hill, rent this game. I hope you're pleasantly surprised. I ADORED it...but I beat it in eight hours. So.

My little sister had to open the door for me after that. I wouldn't do it. This game scared me so badly on so many levels. The shadowy little girl got me every time. I think it was so bad because of the loneliness and quiet. Harry is very clearly on his own. Also, unlike every other Silent Hill game ever, you can't fight back. You can only run until your vision gets fuzzy.

That is the exact face I made at that point, and the rest of the game. And series(I always have my headphones on full blast, in a dark room, and I am always anticipating it, I am pretty much just asking for it)
I loved Shattered memories as well, I don't see why most fans hated it...

the thing is that the game makes you go and go because they change if you answer diferent things :3 i like the idea of the psycologic profile!!

That was totally my reaction too. First play-through I did had the person on the other line whisper "It's open", which I found extremely unsettling (because whispering is creepy). That room and the section of the mall with the looping warped/degraded music and advertisement were probably the "scariest" bits of the game, to me, since yeah it wasn't all that scary in general. Some of the phone messages/photos were creepy if not exactly scary.
I really love his face in panel three, like "If this doesn't work I'm going to kill someone". It's a really nice contract to the terror in the final panel

Man, I remember that puzzle. It took me a while to actually figure it out correctly and I felt like a total idiot after.
Awesome picture. I like how weirded out poor Harry looks (and it doesn't help that the rest of the artwork in the room all looks like original-Silent Hill!Harry, either).
This was actually a pretty good game. The only problem I had was the occasional vague-ness of the goals and any of the chase scenes (which I always found annoying rather than scary). I liked the creepy calls and stuff, though, that fit the old Silent Hill atmosphere pretty well. I think this one and 4 are underrated despite their flaws.

Ugh...I'm stuck on the forest chase sequence. I lost it and stopped playing til I could return it to Blockbuster. The game succeeded in scaring the crap outta me.

It's not so much scary as it is waring. (Well...it does make me scream like a girl every time one of those fuckers grabs me from behind the door. >3>) ANYWAY yeah this bit creeped me out too. Just the voice made me go ffffshitwhatthecrap.

That's what happened to me too, only I was there to solve the puzzle for my friend who worked on it alone for 45 minutes. He gave up, saved, and was going to leave it at that until I wanted to see what he was stuck on. He's a more experianced gamer in general and I solved the puzzle in, like, two minutes.

Heh, it was an easy game to beat. I kinda miss the good ol' days of going through all this trouble to open a stupid little box and getting a lock of hair or whatever and then wondering "WTF AM I SUPPOSED TO DO WITH THIS CRAP?!"

I think the school was my favorite place to be in the game... and the Otherworld there was the one that took me forever to beat, but I love it now. I hate the Hospital personally. Even after I've beaten the game as many times as I have, I still have so many issues getting through it! >.<

Haha. Yeah. The plot was....sad. I think this was just Konami's excuse to shove another silent hill game out before our beloved Akira Yamaoka departs the franchise for good. Well and to continue whoring hot scruffy men and women for more interactive systems. We love you Silent hill...but you kind of lost your flavor after the lack of amazing plot and insane world design and camera angles that were lost in the 4th game...and the fan shipping of homecoming, and the redundancy of origins... *sigh* And from what I've heard the 2nd movie is in developement hell since the director hasn't finished his other project and the writer got arrested for vehicular manslaughter >3>;

This is truly a great game. And to be honest, this was my first thriller game I've ever played.

Lol, that was my exact reaction. Although I was so pissed at this game. I like the psycology and all, but if you ask me, it shouldn't be a Silent Hill game. Alessa wasnt even in it. Sure it took place in the town, but it was really....uh cant even think of a proper word! Its good, if you have no preknowledge of SH. SH4 was better then Shattered Memories, and 4 wasnt even suppose to be a Silent Hill game. Lol anyway great comic!

I actually liked this game, considering it wasn't made by the original creators any more. It's probably the best silent hill game thats been made in the US.Though, I didn't find it very scary, not like the second game anyways. That game is love <3

I think that's the best part--seeing how all the messages change and piece together, coupled with new ways to interpret Cheryl, her personality, so on.
I only like one of the (official) endings. The other three seem completely out of character for how I view Harry, so it's just bias. The UFO ending, on the other hand is, of course, perfect in every way.

I like that too, but a lot of them didn't really seem to make sense (i.e. The Choking Game messages didn't really seem to fit with anything else)
I like the drunk dad ending, just because its so hilarious, and of course the UFO ending with James is pretty amazing
