Appreciation Collection:This is topic I will fight about til the end of time. Sheik is a GIRL >_< Zelda does not randomly turn into a guy for seven years, and even if she DID, why whould you go all fangirl over a male Zelda? And the idea that Sheik and Zelda are two different people just drives me insane. How can you even THINK that? Are you that desprate to keep this character as your bishi? And yessh, they did refer to Sheik as a guy in the game, but wasn't that the ENTIRE reason she went around in drag for the first place, right? So people thought she was a guy.
Besides, the music and the harp are just a dead give away, people.

Smash 4 still refers Sheik as a disguise of Zelda (read the trophy); unfortunately, the programmers didn't get the same message when modeling her (blame Namco), especially after Brawl did a proper portrayal. Besides, that would be like referring Samus in her Power Suit as just a robot, just because she is separately playable from Zero Suit.
And besides, Zelda ONLY pretended to be a boy, not necessarily transformed into one (once again Hyrule Historia).

The characters have to believe it before the audience can lol. I totally agree on this.
And if Zelda could change into a male whenever she so please......... I would wonder whether or not she was just trying to have a REALLY convincing disguise... or if she was really questioning her sexual orientation. o.0

Interesting, because in that manga, it was actually specified that Zelda's mind was sealed into believing she was a boy (yes, there was no mention of changing her body). Still, compared to the manga, Zelda did way better in the game, because she knew what she was doing all along, so all credit goes to her.

Um.. Well, in the manga the younger Zelda pointedly asks Impa to change her into a boy.
Maybe I'm wrong. 
And because of that, Sheik not appreciating the fangirl love just makes him all the more adorable.

In the Manga, the fire temple boss is Link's pet dragon stolen by Ganondorf to corrupt and kill the Gorons, and not some ancient dragon of legend. The manga is completely different than the actual game. Depict it however you like, honey, but this was made with the game in mind.
You're right about in the manga, tho. Sheik is obviously different than Zelda.

In the game, Sheik was female all along. But in the manga, Sheik is male.
Since it's perfectly arguable that Zelda could use magic to change her gender, it all really boils down to how much one cares about canon.
Personally, I sometimes think that canon can go eat itself. But if you disagree, that's fine by me.

Sheik is a guy. It all gets explained in the Ocarina of Time manga and blatantly states that Impa turned Zelda into a Sheikah boy with her magic (that sounds so weird. xD)
However, I understand that not everyone even knows that there are official Zelda manga. >__<

It doesn't say anything about the sex change. Also, Impa cannot be that powerful to change Zelda into a completely different person; she is only a warrior, not some kind of sorcerer. But as Luna-Kitsune-Blu said, it NOT canon.

honey, while that is all good and well, the OoT manga is NOT canon. It wasn't written by anyone at Nintendo. It's a Doujin. Fan made. Very WELL fan made, BUT, fan made. Therefore the Fire Temple Boss isn't Link's long lost pet dragon and all of Sheik's backstory is simple assumption. It's a pretty AU.
Canonly, Zelda says she disguised herself. She's still a she. She's just cross dressing via magic. THAT is Nintendo Canon

Ya know what. I know that Sheik is officialy Zelda and a girl but really, who gives a flying shit? I think that people on both sides of the argument get all riled up and crap their pants when it comes to that subject.
