I just use this app Sketchbook Express - usually on my phone. SAI and Photoshop just aren't workin for me since I do better with my hands, so just using my fingertips is fine for me

That's interesting. Have you tried using a drawing tablet? It's very similar to drawing with a regular pen.
I generally use Illustrator and SAI, but Fire Alpaca is free and I've heard good things about it.
I can't imagine drawing on my phone, the screen is too tiny! Wow. x-x (I'm also a layer whore, I'd never survive on just 3 layers)
When I had my desktop it has a touchscreen so I could draw right on the screen! It was so convenient.

I do have a tablet, but it isn't an art tablet or anything, just..a normal samsung tablet XD I've drawn stuff on it before but it doesn't come out as smooth as my phone drawings do - here's some examples:
Phone: 1 and 2
Tablet: 1 and 2
Of course my style's changed over time and such, but it's faster and smoother looking with how it looks on my phone, so I can charge less for commissions and it overall looks better in my opinion ^^ If my tablet wasn't so old and slow with a somewhat touchy screen, I'd use it for drawing more again
As for the screen, I think that's why I like my phone a little more too XD I kinda like the tiny screen - helps me control longer lines

I didn't mean a tablet-tablet. I mean a graphics tablet like a Wacom or Bamboo, they're totally different.

Thanks ^^ Part of it was figuring out a layering thing I noticed a lot of my friends were doing in their join.me's and streams where they colored underneath the lines and erased what was outside of them, rather than what i was doing with coloring over the lines gently and not erasing them much if at all XD So there's that too lol

I got my Huion for only $40. And the Wacom I used before that was a tiny dinosaur I got for free. (it looked like it was made by Fischer Price but it worked LOL)
Oh yeah the lines definitely keep their own layer.
What I do is I use the magic wand to select everything outside the lines, I expand the selection by 2 pixels to make sure a snug fit. Then I invert the selection and fill bucket on a layer underneath the lines. Then it's just clipping layers over the fill.

I should go back and do some of my older original digital stuff I did on my tablet like how I typically would now - I think they'd look a lot better

Best Buy is nearly always super expensive, and they don't have a huge selection.
My sister was at Best Buy once and asked for a drawing tablet and the employee didn't know what it was/didn't think it existed.
I got mine from Amazon.
usually use SAI but I've taken to Illustrator recently.

Haha i've noticed that about their pricing. all of the employees ive talked to before seemed to be relatively knowledgeable about general stuff, but then again i only went inside once or twice so idk
