Description

Lily Redsheen, merfolk swashbuckler.

A new character for a new campaign. A rare chance of me to be able to make a merfolk character without being a huge hindrance because of land speed. Her backstory and character are still very much in development, I was just able to picture her appearance pretty well.

Wow! She has really cute finned ears & bright eyes!!  I love her extra fishy fins on her tail, & her awesome looking fingerwebs!!

I really like how this one turned out! I should get back to this picture at some point and give it a proper finish!

Great job!    By the way, she belongs over on Dagger Bay (ha).

If there's one thing about D&D that I never accomplished it was playing a merfolk campaign.  She looks like a fun one to portray.

Merfolk don't really work all that well with adventures that take place on land and conversely land characters don't do as well in water. Those things are usually why merfolk characters are so rare... But since I'm expecting a campaign with a fair amount of sailing, this seemed like a good chance to make one!

See, I think that's a good part of the challenge.  Like you say, movement speed is pretty reduced, but that's why I enjoy the challenge.  Plus, a battle occurs near a waterway, and suddenly you've got that ace in the hole.

Playing a ranged or support class would go fairly well with the reduced movement speed, or a class that gains movement speed as a class feature or spell. Swashbuckler is sadly neither of those. She does have the Strongtail racial trait which alleviates that a little but makes her slower in the water. I've been a little tempted not to take that to have very high water mobility when it becomes relevant.

I'm so behind on D&D terms... last time I played was the 2nd edition...

Have fun playing her.

That's been quite a while then.

Thanks, I hope the campaign will turn out well!
