Here is everyones favourite wretch Gollum/Smeagol from "The Lord of the Rings" and "The Hobbit" film series'.This artwork started out as a simple pen drawing but I splashed a bit of watercolour on it and got carried away.
Can't say exactly how long this had taken but it took several hours to do.

Yeah you should go for it, Gollum is not as difficult as people think. I think it's those eyes that make him most Gollum-like. Engrossed is perhaps the right word actually, when I started to get the flesh tone wrong I regretted adding colour entirely.

I'm perpetually afraid of adding colours, but to be honest I think you got it right. The colours you used cool the tone of the picture so I think it suits.

Yeah I'm not keen on adding colours to artwork that was intended to remain a drawing. Thank you, got worried using blues, purples and greens for the skin but thats where white comes in handy, can always lighten it into insignificance.Β
