Growing up in the 80s and 90s you'd just see dozens of these little guys just lazily going about their business in our yards and gardens. I saw one this entire summer and he didn't look so good. Even the Bumblebees are smaller in size and numbers this year. It's a great photo and captures how they collect the pollen well. You never realize that they accidentally get covered in it on top of what they collect on their legs.

I can imagine. Climate change is affecting them as well. And also use of pesticides. We can only hope they do not become extinct.
Indeed, sometimes they are so covered with the pollen you can hardly see their natural colour
