Description Ha, did you think it was a picture of the little French girl with her dog Genaveve? I don't think so (though I do love her too)! Didn't think I could be so dark, eh? Scanner killed the picture again. Oh well. A little break from the whole Linebeck obsession (doesn't mean I'm done though ;b ).

It's Lady Madeline from Edger Allen Poe's The Fall of the House of Usher. If you've never read the story (WHICH YOU SHOULD BECAUSE IT'S AWSOME), the plot is basically this:

Narrator gets a letter from boyhood friend ROderick Usher who writes that his sister is going to die and would like to see the narrartor again. He goes, and after a few days Roderick tells him his sister is dead and if he could help bring her coffin to the tomb (This is Poe writing so of course the guy owns a Gothic Mansion equiped with tomb). He does so, and after that Usher begins to lose it. Narrator tries to calm him down by reading Usher's favourite book, but then Usher starts to freak, where he admits: “Yet I dared not- I dared not speak! We have put her living in the tomb!” aka he buried his sister alive and TA DA! She's standing in the door way and she's pissed. She falls on top of her brother [dead] who falls in shock [dead] while the narrator runs away, and when looking back sees the house caving in on itself, marking the end of the Ushers.

Now, after that horrible summary, I'll explain why this is such a good story and why it was fun to draw.
1.) It's dark (Come on, a guy buried his sister alive! How wonderfully creepy is that? XD )
2.) The symbolism and connections. The house is supposed to be connected to the Ushers ie. if the Ushers die, the house does too. ALso, the twins Madeline and Roderick represent the Mind and Body- Roderick being the Mind since he's all imaginative and 'acute senses [meaning he he over tastes, hears, smells, etc] and Madeline being the Body since she's basically in a coma and can only move.
3.) The Haunted Palace: It's a poem/song Roderick 'created' in the story that represents a guy losing his sanity but instead of a person he's a palace (read it here: [link] )
4.) Drawing people looking psycho is fun.
5.) Blood is also very fun to paint. >D

Ah, there are so many other great things about it!! I hope you like it!

Drawn in water colour

P.S Okay, I wrote Linebeck in the DA search, and for some reason, this showed up, and Linebeck is not oe of the keywords I wrote. XDDD

The Ethelred story is the part where she echoes the sounds being made in the story. Y'know, the screech of the dragon, the breaking open the coffin, etc.?

I still haven't finished reading it (I've spent every spare second this week at rehearsals, performances, or doing HW), but this picture is awesome! I have to finish reading it now.

Although I feel like reading your summary would ruin the story for me, which means that I have no idea what's going on in the picture... But I will soon, I promise you!
