My first project on my new computer. I just bought a shiny new Toshiba laptop over the weekend, and I LOVE IT. How did I ever work on such a slow computer before? And with such a dark display?Anyway, this is just a quick work, about an hour or so. I decided to try a few things that I usually don't. I used a completely different and textured brush from what I normally use. I also only used one brush, and didn't do my usual technique for smoothing out the brush strokes. I wanted it to be rougher and feel kinda like something traditional.
Did I mention that I LOVE BLACK AND WHITE?
So, yeah, have my favorite emo arrancar for your enjoyment.
If I have time, I'll take a whack at doing some of the others.

great job on you're first project in you're new computer. Doesn't it feel great to start out on something so fresh and new haha. Im working with a very old computer and a monitor that doesn't allow me to even see mistakes....and its very difficult to work with.

I feel your pain. My old computer had such a dark display. I ALWAYS had to have it plugged in just to get a little bit of light on the screen. I hope you can get yourself a better computer someday!

haha really?, well my monitor had a few wires sticking out from the cable that my dad had to come over and wrap some special tape around it. and now it appears like some nice strippey decorative from the back, its hilarious. every time I try to adjust the black and white colours to my drawings I always think that it turns out perfectly fine but then again instead of turning out black and white it turns out to be purple and white lol
oh yeah I hope so soon haha.
anyway that's not a problem, you're a good artist

But see, I have this problem where I get in there, stare at my shiny blank canvas and I'm to scared to make a mark. THEN I remember it's digital...

I know what you mean though. I usually try to come up with an idea before I open PS or Sai, that way it's not so intimidating. Like this picture for instance. I've been wanting to do something like this for months, but it's never come out right. But all the trial and error helped me figure out exactly what I wanted.

I actually messed around with some digital painting and stuck the end results in my scraps...it just some hair, but I think it looks decent. Definitely want to play around with it some more.
