They don’t light them fires—at least, they don’t burn nothin. And they don’t put em out. No smoke to em either. Just a light way out in the dark, like it was a flower suddenly bloomed, tiny and real far off, and you alone in all that big open space.
Thing is you can’t figure out whether it’s a good thing, or it ain’t. Whether you oughta be glad or scared. I think that’s really all the point to em there is.
