Description Did this for a FB group called virtual plein air.

It's a super fun group with a lot of good artists. Basically you choose locations from google streetview and do studies from it.
Very nice!

This is the town I grew up in

Ah does L(R)in Lin run that group?
nice one, but I thoroughly recommend grabbing some watercolours and a stool and hitting the outdoors if able

I don't know who runs the group, but there definitely some awesome artists there!

Sure man, I wish to do that, just lack the energy and time. Also, I don't have experience with watercolors and don't have that material. I know that's no excuse tough... the thing is, if I'm gonna try some real plein air stuff I'll probably try in oils, because it is my favorite traditional medium.

Since I'm still learning, I feel that watercolor is a bit wild still

Have you ever try plein air w/ watercolor?

Hehe only valid excuse there is energy and time

Although as long as you'd be willing To try it is a plus. I think for oils though its such a nuisance to set up and to top it off you gotta carry the canvas back unless you have something to store it in. Slight touch on your clotheseak feels lol.
I want to purchase the Easy L Pochade to combat those issues.

I use to paint outdoors regularly with watercolour. Only getting back into it recently.
As long as you know how to paint, watercolours isn't too much to get your head around to a basic understanding

Sorry for the long reply xD anyway looking forward to more

don't worry about it!

Yeah, I never thought of the practical aspect of doing oils outside and carrying everything around, hehe. But since people do it, there must be alternatives.

there is one watercolor artist that I love, his name is Joseph Zbukovic. You probably know his stuff, but if not, you gotta check it out

dude!!! totally didn't know him! thanks for the name, went to check his works out! amazing! definitely gotta study some of his work soon. can believe how he is able to remove so much detail from the buildings and still make it look good.
I have a very impressionistic mind set but for buildings I find it hard to simplify them and still make it look good.

as thanks here are two names for you that work in oil. Jeremy Mann and Kim Cogan. both are on instagram if you are on there, let me know what you think

ah and this was the guy I was talking about that is part of the Digital plein air group. lingy-0.deviantart.com/

Oh, yeah, he is totally in the group, but I think he is not the owner though. He do a lot of good stuff!!!

I'm glad that you met a new artist! I totally agree with on the building part. I find intriguing all the simplification and painterly look. It's something that is much harder then it seems.

Thanks for the names too, Jeremy Mann I already knew, he is a killer!! I love his work! Kim Cogan I didn't knew about and I like it a lot too!! It's great to have a chance to see new stuff from a very good artist!

Thanks

Wow you grew up in such a laid back town. I dunno, just from this picture alone I can't tell, but it's really lovely and somehow it seems life goes by at a relaxed pace, and people can just chill and watch those lovely birds...I love this picture!!

My childhood was really great, I had a lot of fun and plenty of room to play. It was indeed relaxing.

These birds are not lovely though, hehe, those are vultures, they gather around that place because of the fish disposal, since it's a harbor and a market with a lot of fishing activities.

I'm really glad you like it!
Thanks
