Aw, I love it, kinda reminds me of my dog... do you know what breed it is? Just amazing, its almost as if you can feel the curiosity and questioning of the puppy. And the soft fur.

Oh your welcome! Well its a beautiful dog, and for me it looks like a rhodesian ridgeback pup, but then again they usually aren't in calenders...

Great job! The detail is superb. As far as a critique goes, it's hard to come up with one for the foreground, but I think the background needs some work. It looks like you're trying to fade the focus on the pic as you move away, but it's done so dramatically it's distracting. For example, that hindquarters mass. I can't stop looking at it, wondering what it is. Perhaps fading the drawing back more slowly would help. Or even just leaving the background straight black I think would be an improvement. You don't want the viewers distracted, you want them looking at the puppy.
Seriously though, great piece. Not a thing technically wrong with it, just some of my own aesthetic biases.

Thank you so much Kyler for going a critique on my work. The background is a very fair point, the image i worked from is taken from a calender which I presume they've edited to blur the background around puppy to make it stand out but has probably had the opposite effect when I'v drew it. It is the first background I've ever put into my work, normally just do portraits on a white background. I will experiment more with backgrounds and I know I do need to improve on them aswell. Very nice drawing. Very wel done indeed. Great work on the furry skin, the torn ball and the grass. Must have been a terrifying job at some points..........
