They were finally back. Home, where her kittens would have safe. Where Sheezu would have lived if she was alive and well. If she hadn't failed, if she had been well for her kittens.Β After, Sheezu's passing she couldn't grieve properly. They had a battle to win, she had to fight so their kittens, Orpheus' and her's had somewhere secure to grow up. Where there was peace and no war, where they could run in the camp without the worry of exiles bursting in and...And...
Sheba heaved for breath as her eyes teared up. Her chest ached from the pressure and choked sobs, silenced by her desire to not wake her sleeping daughter and her grandchildren. The thing that hurt her the most, was the emotional pain. Sheezu wasn't with her and never would be until she joined Eden.
But for the first time, in so long. She was properly mourning the lose of her child and eventually...
...would learn to let go.
