Description
'One small bite can fill the stomach of a grown man!'Because I'm a sad-o, ultra-nerd.
Really, they're just wafers, made to a tudor recipe.
THE RECIPE.
4oz plain flour
Pinch of salt
2 oz butter
4 teaspoons of double cream
1 tablespoon of clear honey
Seize the flour and salt into a bowl. Rub in butter. When mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs, mix in cream and honey. Roll out mixture on lightly floured surface. Cut into desired shape. Place wafers on lightly buttered baking sheet. Cook at 300 F, Mark 2 or 150 C for 15-20 mins.

Oh, and for a slightly more modern twist on the recipie.... try swapping Golden Syrup for the honey. Just made another batch yesterday with that twist.... well, let's just say there's none left now...

oz is short for ounces; it's from the imperial system.

Ooh, yum! They are LOVELY! I don;t have any cream, and couldn't find my purse to go shopping so had to substitute milk instead, but even so they turned out really well. Made some Honey Butter as well, so combined..... *faints* to die for!

They are lovely really and, as you said, very simple to make. They have a very light texture and taste nice and creamy.
