Description Nanuqsaurus hoglundi

Meaning "polar Bear Tyrant", Nanuqsaurus lived during the late Cretaceous period of what is now Alaska. Measuring in at 20 feet long, this theropod was about half the size of it's larger cousin, Tyrannosaurus rex. Nanuqsaurus' body may even have been covered in fuzzy feathers to help regulate body temperature during the Alaskan winter! Its fossils were discovered in 2006 but were thought to have belonged to Albertosaurus before being identified as a new genus and species.
