You've right. The original image from this horse was taken in a horse market in Hungary. This poor horse was particulary old an anxious.

Like the overall mood of the image - and the balancing of the vertical elements left - with the horizontal elements to the right - and how the sky ties these together.
And that though the horse stands proud and has apparent freedom, like the woman, both on a closer inspection, have that freedom restrained...
Perhaps that is why that band of sunlight seems so appealing, amid a sky that could at a moment - become a storm...
