I actually snapped a very similar picture of green sea turtles at the Monterey Bay Aquarium while I was visiting California which became the inspiration for this piece. I was disappointed with the quality of the photo, the turtles were blurry and the top of the aquarium cut a black bar through the top one's shell. The atmosphere was so magical I had to recreate it. Such an amazing place.
