I like the quote reference... but the picture doesn't feel, to me, melancholy..
but rather makes me feel like walking on this beach barefoot....

Interesting that you mention the quote...someone else told me as well that it doesn't feel all that melancholic. Next time I need to be a bit more careful when I pic my quotes, but I guess I was running out of them!

I had to go back through your gallery. Really amazes me seeing your photos. This one is so beautiful, the soft colors match the waves and water beautifully and the birds sitting out there make for a great vanishing point in the photo. I love how you captured the rocks and the waves and sand in the foreground. Its really a beautiful photo and that would make me want to go to Germany anyday to see this

Echt schönes Foto Sascha. Das Bild lebt von seiner Atmosphäre: der Sonnenuntergang, der den Strand einfärbt, die Steinformationen, die vom Sand und vom weichen Wasser herausluken und natürlich die Möwen, bei der jede in eine andere Richtung zu schauen scheint. Sehr gelungen!

You know, this is a gorgeous photo and I love the title, but the description doesn't fit. You did not succeed in making such a lovely scene melancholy. It's beautiful! Look at the pinks and the velvety roll of the waves. And look at the silky rocks! I can just imagine jumping from one to the other and probably slipping and busting my butt and falling into the waves. This is a beautiful photo, but Edgar Alan Poe can just bug off.
