You know, if I hadn't seen any of your previous works, I would have thought that the giant skeletal dog was looming like an ominous shadow behind the little figure going up the stairs. But now, having seen Grand Chien in other works, I can't help but feel that it's merely staying behind to make sure the little one doesn't fall or get hurt. Like a mother or father carefully keeping watch over their child, in a way, letting them go their own way but making sure to be there to catch them if it goes wrong.
