The Russian pagan tradition of the devil does not exist. There are evil gods, such as the god of war, or the goddess of death, but they can not be compared with the "devil" concept.
I wanted to show that "the devil" is more of a metaphor. In this picture a man who wants to get the power and the gift of clairvoyance. Russian believe that such skills obtained magical way, do not bring happiness.
Figuratively being expressed, a person who uses "evil" magic goes to "the dark side".

This flower belongs to the other world. It can be seen only 1 night of the year. If people found this flower, evil forces will try to keep him in the woods. Thus, even having produced a flower, man, as it makes a part of the evil in the ordinary world.
It is believed that received the seed of the flower, it will be possible to see the hidden treasures and read people's minds. But such power is a serious test for the human soul.
