Four of my original heroes meet and slug it out before eventually working together. As is the comic book way.Sediment is the rocky guy.
Gold, Silver and Bronze are the metallic trio.

You are dead on, except Sediment isn't a member of the group. The trio is definitely analogous to The Metal Men. Sediment is kind of Metamorpho/Thing mixed.
