Description "Better to have loved and lost,
Than to have never loved at all."
I wonder if he ever considered the cost.
Did he ever watch a friend fall?

A love most can't understand,
Over the text on a computer screen.
For her he'd have crossed the land.
No one heard him when he screamed.

Alone in a house she never came to,
His body aches to hold her in his arms.
For her there was nothing he wouldn't do.
He'd be the shield to keep her from harm.

His head falls down to his chest.
He faces a crushing defeat.
Even though he had done his best,
By a drunk driver he's been beat.

And no matter what I do or say,
Trying to help with his sorrow,
I cannot take his pain away.
I hope he's still here tomorrow.

it hurts so much feeling helpless to do anything. We can't change the past, we can't make it undone. We can't even be there for him in person to hug and give a sholder to cry on. We just have this keyboard... and it's so hard not being able to do more. I think you realy hit the nail on the head with this one.

The power of words when brought forth from the heart can stir up memories and emotions that one had thought buried away; kept hidden from the rest of the world.

A powerful poem is enough to strike up more than one meaning within the soul...

I know what it's like to lose someone to a drunken idiot behind a wheel...

That's all I'll say for now. It's unhelpful and useless, but I thought I'd try.
