I don't know what OS you're running but I have a suggestion on the missing file: have you tried file recovery software? Even if you accidentally deleted it, you might be able to recover it by recovering all the files with the same file extension. (Like .jpg, .tif, .png etc.) Try searching download.com or freewarefiles.com I'm a tech and you've got a good chance of getting your stuff back this way. Hope it helps.
