Description There is only one difference between a hero and a villain.
That difference is perspective.

While I will agree that Hitler was a monster of the highest degree, there were and still are people that consider Hitler a Hero, Neo-Nazis for example. To anyone of a sane mind knows that he's evil, but he effectively manipulated a great portion of Germany into thinking he was a hero while he was alive. How else would he have been elected leader? Or all those other die hards of the Waffen SS? Hitler was not the first to do something like this either.

Some would consider those that colonized the Americas to be heroes, but to the natives they were all villains because they took their land, destroyed their homes, slaughtered their families, and stomped on their culture among other things. George Washington was the hero of the American Revolution, but to the British he was an insurgent.

As much as I wish it otherwise, morality isn't so simple.

No, the US. I think you're taking what I said the wrong way. I'm disgusted at what Hitler did just as much as anyone else, heck they even banned the use of the Swastika in Europe because of him.

When I made that quote I didn't have Hitler in mind, but it still applies sadly. Why else would there be Neo-Nazis if they didn't have some kind of hero worship for him to  begin with? It behooves me that there are people who actually think that Hitler was in the right and thus the keep the Neo-Nazi groups going. I try to keep an open mind but I can't wrap my head around that kind or level of stupidity. The KKK as well, they hate people on account of something as trivial as skin tone. I don't get it, never have, never will.

Take a look at Trump for instance: half the country hates him and the other half loves him. I'm not racist, but most of my coworkers are and they think it's perfectly fine to use racist slurs on anybody they like. It's all a matter of a person's perspective.

no no don´t get me wrong i am from Germany and i was very amazed how much you knew about Hitler since most people from the US i know know that he started the second WW and thats it and yes for many people in the Wehrmacht  Hitler was like God they faught on even so the war was already lost all in the name of Germany and Hitler.

What i was thinking about your comment was more apllyed to a common scence of morality in this time but youre right sometimes its all a matter of perspective.

(sry for my english)

I'm a little bit of a history nut myself, one of my brothers too. (he also likes to play World of Tanks and Battlefield) WW2 is a fascinating and disturbing time from a military standpoint. I did have to do a little digging for that information a long time ago since the specifics aren't really taught in public schools.

As sad as it is, perspective does matter a lot in an individual's choices and lives. There are sadly a number of people who still think the way the Wehrmacht did. It makes me sick.

Don't worry about your English, it's perfectly fine. One of my other brothers can't spell to save his life.
