venice beach, ca
the shot i was taking, while chris snapped the photo of me in his journal..
two fathers yelled out to their children who had strayed too far towards the water.. one dashed out to the rescue as only fathers do.

this is great. Theres a curve, like if you traced the spots theyre all standing from above it would be an arc.

i love the minimalist nature of the shot. so much empty space everywhere, and then the families.

what were you shooting?

if you didn't tell me that was water, this would look like the desert.

little people and big people..it may seem as if the man in black is looking to a scene from his past, like in a movie...
I can never tell water from sand in pictures like this. It's nice to imagine that they're walking on water

i like the use of negative space. or just space. i can never tell the two apart. anyway, this could pretty much be anywhere on the globe. i enjoy that it's venice beach, but could be isreal or spain. very nice composition. everyone is just kind of placed there like pegs on a vast board or something. i don't know, but it gets me thinking. thanks!

nice -; real 'garden of eden' feel; arid and open,
well partitioned--with the humans cluttering it up.

'cluttering it up' in that wonderful way they do,
a good way.
coming from one, i'm not sure how much that means.
now you have my word,
many of them, (words)
