I only finished this in a few hours... I am not at all happy with the chibi guys.
I only flat coloured this because I couldn't be bothered putting in shades, it would just be too much.

Little Bits and Pieces

Yes, she is Muslim, but not the hardcore type. Apparently, a lot of people in Lebanon follow the Christian (Or Catholic) faith.

Her legs start to hurt whenever Israel is around (Due to Israel starting wars on the border of Lebanon and Israel, which is in the South)

During the Italo-Turkish war, Romano and Veneziano took refuge at her house. That's how she knows the boys.

She loves Matthew with all her heart. The two have really good foreign relations. For some reason, she is the only one who see's him when Aurthur and Alfred are around.

She is very good friends with Armenia.

She was under Frances rule for 43 years. He helped her make her own country.

Again, as I have said to the previous person who commented on this and said something similar to you this picture is VERY OLD and was done when I was not so well versed in Middle East politics and the such. I understand how westernised women are in Lebanon, and the freedom they have to wear whatever they like. I guess if anyone bothered to look at more recent deviations of this character (which date back to probably 2012) then people wouldn't be blatantly yelling at me for this.

Nevertheless, I've learnt more about the country in the time I've been gone from this website. I don't plan on updating the information on this deviation since I am no longer a part of the Hetalia fandom anymore, and I will be removing the deviation soon in order to prevent further misunderstandings and arguments.

I like your Lebanon oc Her and Tunisia are probably the only arabic speaking countries I can see as women, well in my head canon at least.

Really? I know that they didn't start the Civil War in Lebanon, but they did have a part in it when they first sprung up in the 1980s. And they've started wars with Israel that didn't need to involve Lebanon as a whole.

I would go into more detail, but if I do, it would just fall on deaf ears. Also, I don't have time to go into detail about sympathisers of terrorism. Sorry.

Your comment will be hidden.

I really like this! Very creative and yet true to the country and its history. This is definitely one of my favorite Lebanon OC's on deviantArt; it really goes in-depth with Lebanon's relationship with Syria and Israel in a more positive light. Very well done, and I'm now inspired to make Lebanon fanart.

Wonderful! I'm also motivated to draw Lebanon; especially in the "hummus war" with Israel, and possibly in a pairing with Palestine, but I don't know if either would offend anyone...anywho, I can't wait to see more Alima! Good luck and hope your summer is well.

I've heard about the recent hummus thing with Israel and Lebanon. When I read it in a magazine, I almot laughed... how could you fight over whose food is whose? just go back to the lines of who basically created it first. And hummus is quite eaten a lot in all the States in the Middle East anyway.
Thank you! ahaha, I live in the Southern Hemisphere, so its winter; not summer

I know, it does seem a little silly, nonetheless I wished I was in Lebanon to help devour some of it. Mmm. And I agree, hummus is delectable in all parts of the world. (All my friends in the States tease me that I make it so well because my heritage is Lebanese...XD)
Oh! I'm sorry! x3 Have a wonderful winter then.

Aww! Well, I was born in America, so I don't know that much about Lebanon other than a few books I've read and the one time I visited. She keeps getting trampled on, that's for sure ( ;__; ) but I like how you portrayed her as a strong woman despite all that's happened. I was actually inspired to start drawing some doodles of her, Palestine, and Israel when I saw this.

And this is why no one tries to make OC's of countries they don't have personal experience with. XP. I don't want to nit pick but you've got lots of things wrong. ))

(( Umm...Well Lebanon shouldn't be able to speak Egyptian Arabic, first of all. Second, France helped make Lebanon her own nation. But for two nations to be married would mean that they joined together as an Empire. And even then, there are more specific rules to indicate marriage, bottom line, not married. Close friends. Her tan is fine, Lebanese are out in the sun a lot and Phoenicians were known for being dark. Her hair is fine too, though the majority of women have light hair (some are even blonde). Personality wise, she should be stuck up and very fashionable. She also wouldn't be wearing a scarf. Lebanese women don't really wear them until they are old and finally ready to devote most of their lives to Islam. Before that time of age, they use their youth as much as possible to be free, fun, and flirty. You've got your mind set on the stereotypical, conservative, Arabian woman. ))

(Erm, I am sorry if I came off being really mean and bitchy to you. Once I change the information, I will credit you happily
I only took the Egyptian Arabic because Nancy Ajram can sing/speak it. I will change that.
I should have changed the France/Lebanon thing a while ago, but by having school now, I have devoted myself to studying rather than editing some of my art at the moment.
I made her wear the hijab because personally, I think she looks pretty in it :3 but, I have been thinking of changing her religion due to a lot of Lebanese people here in Australia and Lebanon being Catholic, Malkite Catholic, Greek-rite Orthodox and Catholic. In the next few drawings, I might scrap the hijab and re-vamp her with new clothes and what-not. Even probably make a new reference sheet for her.
Sadly, I did have my mind set on that. Lastly, I would like to thank you very much on the information it was a very big eye opener for me!)

(( Nancy is just one artist. That's like basing America off of Bush.
NP, just a heads up on it
They're Catholic because they are Australian. Lebanese people are a majority Muslim and even though Lebanese girls are free and fun, they've been living and have been taught the life of Islam since birth. The religion gives them a sense of security, of uniqueness, and of identity. You should make her tolerant, but not willing to convert. Also, regarding the hijab, If a woman finally decides to wear it, she can't just take it off freely. There are specific scarves that are just for fashion, but the hijab you gave her is the religious one. So it's either you change it to the cosmetic one or keep the religious one and make sure she doesn't take it off.
LOL. Its cool =w= Most people don't know all this info. But I like her, Rayaan's little female self/buddy. He'd be so happeh ))

I think I am going to go with the cosmetic one.. since they seem quite nice but the cosmetic one wouldn't make a difference right?
Haha, thanks )

The chibi look very nice
I like the drawing and clothes
They look simillar to the traditional clothes of Lebanon

However, I have one small comment about the arabic writing
The text written in Arabic is not right
It's written from left to right where arabic words are written from right to left
And the letters need to be connected to each other not seperated:

It should look somthing like this
الجمهورية اللبنانية

I think the problem is with Photoshop where it does not support arabic
There is Middle Eastern version of PS to support arabic

Sorry for that
But it's just that I like your work and I want it to be perfect
