Description
Soleku was once a renowned artist and musician, before becoming one of the seven Toa Vanembar. She was a guardian of the Island of Poliaz until the death of her beloved, Gratigan . Blaming the rest of her team for his death, Soleku struck out on her own.More story, pictures and other MOCs can be found on the original page on MOCpages!
This MOC is a V2. Soleku V1 was made several years ago. I've improved a lot since then.
The aim here was to create the sleek, shimmering toa I always envisioned, and the metallic blue works wonders here. Posing her is a little tricky because of those KK ankle joints, but it's a trade-off for having more sand blue on her. The only real problem area is her shoulders, which I'm still puzzling over, trying to get a design that keeps her armour one stud closer in. :I

First off, it does have its own category. Secondly, whether or not you don't see it as art won't change my mind about it. As much preparation and work went into this as you'll find in other OCs across DA.

Don't really like this one :/ so many areas look awkward that I'd rather list what isn't awkward. The upper legs, the weapon, and the forearms. Those three areas look really good, but the other areas look bad. The actual technique looks good, but I think it's misapplied.

SHe looks really good. The one I would say is that, in contrast to the original, the silver Akaku doesn't really fit in with her colour scheme anymore. I don't know if it does in person, but in photographs, it doesn't match up with her silver armour and such. I think a sand blue version, from the original Matoro sets, would probably be better.

In person it looks fine. Alas, I never got Matoro, otherwise she would most likely be wearing that mask instead.

I see. Well, for those purposes, there's always stuff like Bricklink. It's where I get all my parts from now, unless I pick up an HF set.
