Very nice, so that's how those Celtic Jewels are SUPPOSED to look on a character they actually fit on hm? I only use Aiko3 ATM so I'm always trying to fit odd things on her. Lol!

I'm using a variety of programs.

Poser, poseray, and povray with the megapov extensions.

Very nice! The cel-shading is great, and I really like your pov too. I must celshade something in the near future, I keep meaning to, but I keep failing, too...

Very cool! You're getting pretty damn good at the cel rendering.... gonna do a tut anytime soon? Mine always turn out horrible.

I'm probably close to doing one, but I worry that the whole process is more difficult than people would like to see. I'm afraid it is not a push the button and wait type thing. I'm trying to figure out how to make things as easy as possible.

I still want to do some experiments with transparency maps as well.

Well, I'm anxiously awaiting one. If you decide to & need a tester for the tutorial, lmk!

The broken lines DO work for a Manga illustration, though! Where did you get the V2/Anime doll at? Fabulous work, man!

Ahhhhh.... manga! That is where I have seen the broken lines before. Maybe I should redo this in grayscale with halftone shaders.
Might be an interesting experiment.

You can if you want. Remember that most manga have three or four full-color pages at the start of the story. One of those weirdy things that Japanese comics have that is so alien in the States. Full color or no color in the US, in Japan it's to establish the color keys. I like their, "Hey,YO! This is what it looks like in color! Use your frikking imagination, now!" LOL

You have been doing some nice work with the V/AD hybrid. ^^
The dress inner outlines came out broken this time for some reason.

Lokai2000 In reply to ken1171 [2006-09-12 00:42:53 +0000 UTC]

Sadly, I know why it is broken. I just don't know how to fix it. I feel like contacting the guy who wrote the mode for the line generation. I could probably fix it if I could apply attributes to specific objects in the scene, but the settings are global.

Anyway, I liked that character. Even though she has an animedoll head, it doesn't look so animedoll.

What wrong with looking like AnimeDoll?
Did you see my few last renders with her?

Yes I did. And they are very good!
I just wanted a non-pointy chin for once.

Hmm, I think AD has a morph to change the chin.
I have used that recently. ^^

As a cell render that's pretty nice. I saw a V3/Girl hybrid and while I think The Girl is darn cute... she's too toony for me and I'm never satisfied. I think the render I saw with girl/v3 would have been much better as a cell render. I imagine that I'd feel the say way about anime doll, though I don't see her used as much as Aiko.

I guess what I am really trying to say is... best way to do this pic is a cell render... good choice... and good render

It's a raytrace render.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Hyomoto In reply to Lokai2000 [2006-09-12 06:24:26 +0000 UTC]

to be honest, I'm not entirely sure what that is. I know ray tracing has to do with drawing changes in a line or something like that. I think bumpmapping is a form of ray tracing, but one again, not sure.
