Anyway, this is the cover girl for the next release of the PIBL documentation. Nothing to much to say other than enjoy!

Wow... I must say, that's absolutely incredible. The way the hair falls and flows really brings life to the image. And the reflections are pretty awesome... Much like everyone else has already said, this is worth a lot of compliments.

Very nice looking...

BTW, that's an interesting sharp shadow on her nose... or perhaps, a nosetip replacement? ^_^

You are pretty close. It is a small trench. Kind of a hint that she is not human.

Dunno... I'd want to see her closer... erm, her nose, I mean I want to see her nose closer, of course. ^_-

...and that purple-ish tint on her face... sexy. ^_^

Koz hair still rocks, BTW.

Very sleek, I like it.

The color of her "armor" is especially outstanding, just because I have no idea what to call it! It looks like a lavender-silverish.

Reminds me of Ghost in the Shell, kind of.

Outstanding job. <3

Lokai2000 In reply to TsubasaShi [2007-02-18 13:07:45 +0000 UTC]

Most of the outfit is from Cyberknight over at DAZ. The gloves are from the A3 Casual Wear set from DAZ. I had to use some magnets to get the tops of them to fit under the armor. The blades, blade to glove connectors, and the entire head piece are things I modeled in 3DSMax.

I should really pay more attention to what DAZ offers for stuff >.<

I don't remember them advertising it! The whole suit looks like something from Bubblegum Crisis. There are a variety of different pieces that can be mixed and matched.

TsubasaShi In reply to Lokai2000 [2007-02-18 13:59:35 +0000 UTC]

OH, I know all about mixing and matching. I had to do that with quite a few outfits to get the desired effects going. LOL But usually, I go check the site on wednesday nights (when it seems they have finished loading everything onto the page) and look to see what they have in each category.

Very cool! What's PIBL?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Lokai2000 In reply to Joelglaine [2007-02-18 00:52:37 +0000 UTC]

PIBL stands for Povray Image Based Lighting. It is a program I wrote that takes an input image and creates a light set out of it. I got tired of searching for those bloody HDRI probe files, so I wrote something that works with any input image (as long as it is in .bmp format). Currently, I only support Povray, but I have been thinking about having the tool write out Poser lights as well.

Joelglaine In reply to Lokai2000 [2007-02-18 02:19:27 +0000 UTC]

Getting some good damned lights would be a good thing. It takes almost all my time in set-up screwing with the damned lights. Last render I did, I screw with lights for about 17 hours and it took about an hour to render. If you did Poser lights, you'd be my hero!

(AND a bunch of other people's,too! )

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Lokai2000 In reply to Joelglaine [2007-02-18 03:28:00 +0000 UTC]

The problem is that I can overload the number of lights Poser can deal with real fast. I haven't quite worked out how to get the same quality of results without making render times outrageous. (Then again, I really haven't spent any time thinking about it either. )

I see that reflexions make important part in your deviations, almost like a feature. That is the kind of thing one cannot hope to accomplish in Poser itself in a decent way. Thus that's the kind of thing that never shows in my gallery!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Lokai2000 In reply to ken1171 [2007-02-18 02:16:16 +0000 UTC]

Poser can do reflections, it's just.. uhm... painful.

Now to start adding the caustics.

Whenever Poser doesn't deliver, I bring the entire scene to Vue.
But even Vue cannot read Poser shader node materials.
I wonder if C4D can import those?
I should probably ask Lokai2000 ^^
