some sketches I did during my vacation in the Cévennes last month, based on photo reference! loved being able to sketch and paint digitally while travelling.. the iPad has made that a lot easier than it used to be.Drawn with Procreate on the iPad Pro, using the apple pencil. I got the iPad for this reason as well! I love the interpretation of the landscape that you did. What do you find are your favorite brushes in Procreate? It looks like you used the hard airbrush, but I could be wrong!

i'm not an apple fan but the ipad is a game changer for artists. i had a cinitiq companion before and it just doesn't compare on any level. as much as i hate to admit it, because in all other areas i prefer any brand but apple.

So it's about levels of sensitivity? Colour reproduction? Are you using an apple stylus thing also?
It has just been very sudden that a lot of artists have started talking about using it.

there's lots of reviews that compare ipad with cintiqs.. definitely check those out if you want to know more about the specs.
a friend of mine had one and i tested theirs out for a bit, drawing in procreate. it has a really high refresh rate so the results feel instant, like drawing on paper. it felt great so i bought one based on my intuition, i just knew that it was a good tool for me. i travel a lot as well so it's been a great way to spend hours waiting at the airport, in airplanes etc. it's just a good fit for my personal situation. i do use the apple stylus also.
i think a lot of artists use it because it's like a trend.. a lot of people have it and that peaks interest, so more people consider getting it as well. but like i said, it's a game changer for me, it's better than any other type of mobile drawing pad. it's not JUST a trend.. it's also just a really good investment for digital artists IMO. i can see why a lot of artists are enthusiastic. i'm working on game art for a triple A game title right now and 2 of the concept artists in my team are exclusively using the ipad to work professionally, so that says something about what a useful and intuitive tool it is for creating digital art.

I'm iffy on the entire ecosystem and the business model so wouldn't buy one based on that.
Your feedback is the most honest and real I've read in a long time that isn't tainted with fan-girl/boy rose tinted glasses, so thankyou.

loving these so called sketches, they're soo good girl, they've got real 70's vibe to them, i didn't realise you could get this kind of result with the i-pad. the colour and lighting are spot-on but you did always have an eye for colour.
