It's a really nice idea, perhaps Byakuya might see nightmares like this at night? O_o Cause I think he did feel guilty, at least in the very end about all of it. And I think you did the shading very well

So gorgeous! I love the concept. Often I wondered what he'd have done had he been in Rukia's predicament. Or if things had been opposite, him being the adopted child and Rukia being the nobility that looked down upon his decision...and the one who turned her back as he was being lead away to death.
