WOW - did this grow like this naturally? Or, were limbs attached as the tree developed, for some reason?

I don't think all branches have been controlled but I know there had a layering at the base of the tree.
They tried to develop some other trees from the ground and some branches have been affected but not the whole tree ! (it is one reason for the strange shape !)

J'ai eu le même réflex en voyant cet arbre : Le prendre en photo! Il est surprenant, surtout ses branches qui se tortille jusqu'au sol.
