Description This was my beloved rabbit, who died in May, 2009
This picture was taken one month before that, pretty much her last time outside;

If you have a little time, I want to tell you her life, as she is my role model in life and a little hero for me.

She showed me, that you have to believe in yourself and do what you think is best to stand out.
She wasn't best friends with other animals, she didn't like people. Whoever tried to get in her territory got bit or warned. She wanted herown place not to be shared. She accepted the guineas and preferred them before rabbits, but she didn't want to be included in the group. She lived her life, and she loved it.

She showed me that It's okay to be a little crazy, as long as you have a friend who accepts that.
She always stayed out in the rain. When the All others sat in the big house(had two floors, plenty of space) while she sat out in the rain, like she wasn't disturbed at all.
She always ran to me (in warning manner) but didn't bite me, she rather licked my hand and softly nudged me to pet her. She enjoyed that as much as I did.
She loved to jump. Not only from joy, but also over obstacles. I made her a parkour, she loved it. She loved playing catch a rope, like a cat. She got a bowl of food. She threw the food out and played with the bowl. She was crazy. It ws never broing with her

She showed me to make adventures
We had the plan to leave our animals out all year. Then a storm came in the first night and the cage broke down. The guienas stayed in, She escaped.
We have a mass of cats in our neighbourhood and live right next to the busiest street of town. I believed she was alive, although that thought was crazy. I searched for her, every day. Two weeks later, we found her in the pet shelter. She didn't have one scratch, she was fit and happy to see us.
And she was in the guinea pigs c ageXD That seriously made me laugh, "she wasn't "Compatible" with other rabbits", the zoo-keepers told us. They tried anything, but she only accepted guineas.
That moment I knew we had her. We had found her.
She had that "Finally you're here, where have you been? HUH?" Look on her face, I was so happy.

And last but not least, she showed me to never ever give up on life, even if you loose everything
Her sister died when she was two years old, she was a "loner" for life, and was caught from the busiest street alive.
I thought that was enough trouble for a life, but her life had a very sad ending.
When she was three years young, she got a bone infection due to articular malposition from one day to the other. She wasn't able to jump anymore without overturning. It was horrible, taking from her what she loved most. But soon she wasn't able to stand balanced anymore, she always needed to sit down, we couldn't get her out as the risk of serious injury was too high.
Ober time, she couldn't get up anymore. I had said goodbye to her, I was thinking about it but never had felt more secure in my life over a decision. I didn't want her to end the life when flies eat her up as she can't do anything, when she had pain, struggling with life. She should leave it while it was still possible to go in sleep.
The problem was: That Friday, the vet had closed. We had to wait a full week-end, and it was the worst of my life. She wasn't able to sit anymore, was too weak to relieve herself, clean herself or even eat. Seeing her that way is bringing me back to tears. She didn't deserve this.
Finally, on Monday the 25th, we were able to send her to sleep. The vet praised us for keeping her so well, although she was in a sorry-state. When she finally went to sleep, two weeks from her birthday, she kept her eyes open.
I could hardly look at her. I gave her a carrot in her grave, and every year, Birthday, Christmay, I visit her, bring her presents. I even built up a birds feeding place next to her grave so she's not lonely. And from the leftovers I can tell there are plenty of them !
But she really isn't lonely, there are many animals around this corner, I also saw many cats. Once, there was a very big dead bird lying like this [link] right in front of her grave. Maybe a cat brought her a present, I know it's ridiculous, but I even saw a dead fish in the tree above her which is more odd.

She never gave up on life. One took her abilities and friends, even her home, but her spirit was never broken, and she didn't give up until the very end. Thank you, that you have been my friend through this all!

And thank you for reading her story, because then you helped keeping her forever

Of course it's a beautiful and touching story at times like that I wish pets would just live as long as we do, and get the same medical care when they're ill...

True, but I always remember the story then, (the example was with a dog), that animals don't have to live as long to find out how to be happy, humans take way longer to find it out. She was happy all her short life long, that thought keeps me up a bit.

Yes that is the most important thing, if you think of all the animal abuse in the world It's just so difficult because you become so attached to your pets, they are so wonderful even if they are bad tempered like my female cat, I still adored her I do like about animals that the simplest things make them happy, a bit of sun, some food, being cuddled

I have a black Alaskan bunny too, his name is Geordi. I love bunnies, very special and unique kind of pet and companion. I truly think anything wether that be animal or person, who has an impact on us this way must have a soul regardless of wether people say they do or not. You'll see her again.

Very true, I had to put an old dog of mine down a few years ago. It was still the hardest thing I've ever had to do to this day. If I talk about it too much I still tear up. Animals can be our best friends. They don't judge us, they aren't harsh or sarcastic or hurtful or vengeful. We don't always get along, but there is a very special connection there. And I think there is love going both ways. The affection and devotion they show us should never go unnoticed or be disrespected. Humans and animals have shared a very long history together, and I think that connection is more than just a coincidence or a random event. I believe its one of many necessary aspects of maintaining happy lives on Earth.

Perfect words, Animals never lie to us - they are the most reliable ones you have.
"If you do a good thing to someone, you'll get it back twice" - No. Sorry, but I experienced different.
If you do something for animals however - give them a home, love them - they will give you so much back you don't even know for what you deserve this. And that is granted.

haha, you're asking me things
Love those animals. Well, did you ever have animals? How old are you?
All right I'll give it a try.
You should make your parents sure you alone will take care of them. (You should have two as bunnies aren't happy alone usually).
As a "birthday present" is usually somethign I do not really support. Animals should be chosen carefully, not as spontaneous buys. Have you already seen one that interests you?
Bunnies make dirt. Wil you clean them every week? Who will buy the food, take them to the vet? They migth not cost much to buy, but everything else around them is very expensive over time, you should be aware of that.
Can they go outside? Cat-proof? What happens if one dies? In the holidays? Don't take for granted that your parents take care when you are away, if they do, thank them for it, every singel time
Show your parents you know exactly what you are talking about, that you have thought about all.

Bunnies can be wonderful friends, they can be less dirty than guineas(My Nellie doesn't poo on my carpet but can wait till she gets into her cage again.) You should play witht hem, but be sure not to overpet them - they like your presence if they get used to you, but they are no toys.
Facts about bunnies
-Bunnies life longer than other small pets!
-Bunnies are less dirty
-Bunnies can bite
-Bunnies cost a lot
-Bunnies are wonderful to watch
-Bunies make you happy
-Bunnies can increase your grades They sometimes eat your homework if it was done badly
-Bunnies fertilize your garden
-Bunnies are adorable.
-Bunnies usually shouldn't be kept alone
-Bunnies get bored easily when alone(Play with!)
-Bunnies need to jump around
-Bunnies need everyday care
-Bunnies don't make so much noise as other small pets(Hamster wheel, guinea talk, dog bark)

I assure you the bunny will be absolutely fine with me I'm not a Bunneh Killer!!

I always wanted one for Easter^^ But I never got one, my sister got a bunny for her last school day 7 or 8 years ago - so I got one, too, in the end.^^) And then hers died, then she got a second one. Then mine died, and now my sister's off, studiying and can't take care of bunny anymore, so she gave it to me. So now I have a bunny that is actually not really mine, but I love her as if she was

You HAVE to upload a picture of your bunny!!XD Glad for you, bunnies are so lovely!

I am thinking of getting this one! : [link] the bottom section is 96cm (long) X 94cm (wide) X 50cm (high) and the top is 100cm (long) X 45cm (wide) X 41cm (high)!! so would that be big enough!? I haved researched it alot! xD

Cute!
I don't think I ever meassured her cage as I got it from my sister.
Lapinette is a sweet name^^
You just should be sure that the cage is not an everyday stay - I thought about building a big one by myself, a few metres big, but my parents didn't want that to "waste" my room. So Nellie gets out everyday, can hop around in my room, then gets in her cage to rest, sleep, eat, poop. When whe's hopping around acitevly in the cage I'll let her out again. When the weather is allright, all animals are outside the whole day. My guineas have two cages combined to one.
Although something like this: [link] even a bit bigger, would be great, but I think I have found a good compromis. At least all seem happy, are healthy and very curios every time I go in the room(Food? YOU HAVE FOOD??)
