True, but I always remember the story then, (the example was with a dog), that animals don't have to live as long to find out how to be happy, humans take way longer to find it out. She was happy all her short life long, that thought keeps me up a bit.

I have a black Alaskan bunny too, his name is Geordi. I love bunnies, very special and unique kind of pet and companion. I truly think anything wether that be animal or person, who has an impact on us this way must have a soul regardless of wether people say they do or not. You'll see her again.

Very true, I had to put an old dog of mine down a few years ago. It was still the hardest thing I've ever had to do to this day. If I talk about it too much I still tear up. Animals can be our best friends. They don't judge us, they aren't harsh or sarcastic or hurtful or vengeful. We don't always get along, but there is a very special connection there. And I think there is love going both ways. The affection and devotion they show us should never go unnoticed or be disrespected. Humans and animals have shared a very long history together, and I think that connection is more than just a coincidence or a random event. I believe its one of many necessary aspects of maintaining happy lives on Earth.

Sehr gut gesagt. Tiere sind die besten Freunde, die wir je fΓΌr fragen konnte.

Reading that almost made me cry; I feel the same about all my pets who have died - they stay in their owners' hearts forever. It's really touching how you try to make sure she's not lonely even three years later. T_T

haha, you're asking me things
Love those animals. Well, did you ever have animals? How old are you?
All right I'll give it a try.
You should make your parents sure you alone will take care of them. (You should have two as bunnies aren't happy alone usually).
As a "birthday present" is usually somethign I do not really support. Animals should be chosen carefully, not as spontaneous buys. Have you already seen one that interests you?
Bunnies make dirt. Wil you clean them every week? Who will buy the food, take them to the vet? They migth not cost much to buy, but everything else around them is very expensive over time, you should be aware of that.
Can they go outside? Cat-proof? What happens if one dies? In the holidays? Don't take for granted that your parents take care when you are away, if they do, thank them for it, every singel time
Show your parents you know exactly what you are talking about, that you have thought about all.
Bunnies can be wonderful friends, they can be less dirty than guineas(My Nellie doesn't poo on my carpet but can wait till she gets into her cage again.) You should play witht hem, but be sure not to overpet them - they like your presence if they get used to you, but they are no toys.

Cute!
I don't think I ever meassured her cage as I got it from my sister.
Lapinette is a sweet name^^
You just should be sure that the cage is not an everyday stay - I thought about building a big one by myself, a few metres big, but my parents didn't want that to "waste" my room. So Nellie gets out everyday, can hop around in my room, then gets in her cage to rest, sleep, eat, poop. When whe's hopping around acitevly in the cage I'll let her out again. When the weather is allright, all animals are outside the whole day. My guineas have two cages combined to one.
Although something like this: [link] even a bit bigger, would be great, but I think I have found a good compromis. At least all seem happy, are healthy and very curios every time I go in the room(Food? YOU HAVE FOOD??)
