...An ancient evil force resumes his plotting. After having enlisted the help of an unwitting Okotoan Mask Maker to ruin the island and begin the breakout of the Skull Spider Hive deep underground, Teridax uses his Rahi Control to order their Lord to retrieve the Golden Mask of Skull Spider Control.

With such a mask created for a seeming failsafe system on Okoto, he could take control of even those possessed by the Lord of Skull Spiders itself -- a specific, gigantic being...

With the Mask of Skull Spider Control reunited with the Lord of the Skull Spiders, the commander reawakens... shadows and rot climb together into a body for the ancient and immobile Gold Spider. The Lord and the Queen were finally one unit. Now instead of become listless zombies, those possessed by a Skull Spider wrapped around their heads could be directly controlled and commanded.

With the tactician and commander together, they would resume their ancient objective of collecting all dangerous masks and subduing any warriors in their way. The tragedy that will ensue from Teridax using these two fundamental guards of Okoto against the Toa brought to their world to exterminate him once and for all will be decisive, and potentially devastating.

Okay so that was a lot to read lol. Now at least you guys ought to understand the significance of the smaller guy that went with my Skull Spider Mastermind and the Mask of Shadows I drew a long time ago up there. I suppose now with all the context, she's way more like the Infected Matoran Teridax rather than the Toa Ignika.

Also I wouldn't be totally surprised if the Lord of Skull Spiders itself is really just a big Skull Spider for some big robot lol
