Description first photomanip I dare to upload

It's a manipulation of these two photos I took back in early December when there was a lot more snow ( base images are here: [link] taken with a Sony Alpha 230 in Austria)

I called it old burden path as it remembers me of that scene described in one of the Γ„ladhal chapters...

it's pretty nice... but i belive that with a few simple changes it can be improved a bit. Try for instance to play with the luminosity of the statue.... i think it is a little to bright for the rest of the pic. Moreover you could soften the edges of the snow so it doesn't look su clean cutted (you could use the dodge tool or simply go through the borders with an eraser with low opacity), that would make it more realistic i think... well anyway it's a very interesting work overall...
PS: my comment is not a critic, just advice

I agree with that though I do planed the statue to look a lot more 'glowing' than the background, I actually had the edges of the snow on the front areas a little bit more blurred, but it looked like it washes into the background which was something I wanted to avoid in the end

Thank you!

Really good Photo Manipulation. As a person who also does photo manipulations I can tell this took a lot of time. I don't think people realize how much time a good manipulation takes! Here are a few examples of mine [link] [link] and [link]

Thanks a lot!
I used mostly layer effects and overlay stuff, didn't really cut and paste, resp. overpainted a lot areas

Layer effects are teh best way really. It seems to be a smoother transition.
