Damn I haven't drawn in weeks. Finals took all my talent. Well some Ash and Misty love was a good way to get back into the swing of things X3 I love her mermaid hair-do.

Face it, Ash is a dunce because:
a) He's a guy. We males tend to survive through action alone, as opposed to thinking with our brains, it seems.
b) He's 10. Since the Japanese refuse to acknowledge in any sort of time jump (despite birthdays and other special events coming and going throughout the anime's timespan), the characters remain the same ages as they were when they first started out. At 10 year old, boys remain in their "cootie phase" (although, with kids learning of "it" at increasingly younger ages, the whole "girls have cooties" stigma may be removed altogether), thinking romance and love to be gross, lame, and stupid. It's part of why girls are said to "mature" faster, and thus, why Misty finds it difficult to show her feeling to a boy that's even more oblivious to hints than were one to smack him literally in the face (which it did, given "the romantic slap" that's been used between Ash and Misty, taken from such classic titles as Gone With the Wind [1939] and implanted into the Japanese culture).
