You're into bookmaking too!? Aaaahhhh

I took a bookmaking class in college and it ended up being my favorite class EVER. I love that paper btw!!!

Yes!! I absolutely adore bookmaking, I took a -very brief- class in my high school on it.
We learned the Japanese stitch and a European one. I would love to take a full course on it though.
I find people who like bookmaking rare! I'm so glad there's someone who appreciates the work that goes into it! <33
(And thank you! I got the fabric from Etsy! ^-^)

Bookmaking is difficult to come by because of the mass production of books... I get so excited over handmade books now because, like bookmakers, they are rare!

We learned all the really simple basic books like pamphlets... We made some leather books, soft and hard-covers... scrolls and book boxes and other fun stuff ^^ My favorite is the simple european hard-cover book and coptic binding

You could probably find tutorials on all these online... I have this really cool book back home I could tell you about. It's what we used in class. I'll try to remember!

Aww~ I definitely remember trying coptic binding, but I made the stitches way too tight.
And I'd be very interested in that book if you can recall it!

I found it! Here it is: [link]

Some of the directions can be a liiiiittle vague but any confusion can be cleared up with the internet >:] They use lots of step-by-step instructions.
