Description I *heart* my laptop.

In terms of improvement over previous stuff, there's little on the final product that screams 'You are one step closer to being the next Michealangelo'.

On the other hand, I haven't touched this program in ages, so I'm just glad I haven't slipped back.

For those of you that didn't know, PSP6 use to crash on my old computer all the time. I've got this new laptop and this is the first drawing using it. It took a while to adjust to the new colors -- you have no idea how long it took to find a decent flesh color.

I was going to do some more 'Girls of DC' stuff, but I just wasn't feeling the Star Spangled Kid. Sometimes, the pencil just doesn't want to draw. I am tempted to put the original pencil artwork in the scraps section. I love the colors, but there's a certain raw feel in the original drawing that gets left out when I switch over to the computer.

Anyways, about the subject matter. A coworker of mine just loaned me some DVDs of GI Joe, and I have to admit, for a 20 year old cartoon, this stuff is quite entertaining. I remember refusing to watch it because it was 'a boy's show'. Which is a shame, because I think the women on the show are amazing. They don't get captured or tied up. They shoot and play with the big boys. These chicks ROCK.

So, I figured I'd draw my favorite lady GI Joe, Lady Jaye. Besides the fact that her missions seem to be a lot of fun (she's the team's covert agent), she also gets to hang out with the very dashing beret-wearing Flint (Stephanie, if you're reading this, he's like a slightly more haughty Carth...with a beret).

Lady Jaye is holding her boyfriend's dog tags and trademark beret in one hand. The other hand holds a SIG P266. Looks to me like she's about to plow through some Cobras to find her missing man. Hopefully he's not flirting with the Baroness! "It was mind control, honey. Honest!"

Nice, and I'd like to add that it is nice to see a Lady Jaye
without her... ah stuff, not being as big, or bigger than her head.

Yay! You're back! I like this one. Her pose is great and so is her outfit (did you make that up or is that how she really dresses?). For some reason she reminds me of that chick from Jag. It may just be the short hair.

My only critique - her nose - it needs...something. A little more detail, perhaps? It seems a little flat compared to her shapely eyes and mouth.

Hmm... a haughty Carth...with a beret. Does this Flint guy also have the single strand of hair falling across his forehead? If he does, I just might have to check out these GI Joe episodes

Yeah, I was looking at comic books for nose ideas and got stumped. Maybe a stronger highlight?

Anyways, Flint doesn't have the strands of hair like Carth, but maybe that's because of the beret. I think it's like Indiana and his fedora -- when that beret comes off his head, bad things happen.

I couldn't find a really good scene, but here's something on youtube -- like I said, he wears the beret all the time -- and with his civilian clothes (and the dialogue is just wrong):

Enjoy.

Looks great......I liked the simplicity of your other ones but I wanted to see what you could do now that you can add more detail.

Can't wait to see what your future art looks like.
