Description Painting the midday world is not something I do well -- I do best if I stay in the margins of the day. The more or less literal version of this scene is posted on my blog, but it's very boring, so today I decided to put in the dark outlines and redo the trees to get this, well, less boring painting -- though I take it as a warning to stay away from too literal of painting...

Your works reassured me that I have took the right direction for a concept of the new painting. I simply need to convert it in my head to do it the rigtht way. Thank you for sharing your beautiful works. You have encourage me with your art and commentary to it to finish an idea kept in mind since pretty long time. Cheers! And wish you more fantastic arts.

Thanks. I should say that I've been drawing and painting for over 50 years, and have painted over a 1000 pieces in the last dozen years, and still, here's as far as I have gotten. Art is not a race or a contest. Art should be fun, and taken lightly, especially, all for the painting which don't turn out quite like you would have liked -- which is most of them. I learn more from things that don't work, than work. And then I forget what I learned, and do it all over again. But I have fun.

Very nicely catched in words. But to be honest when I see people doing art on a finger snap I have serious doubts I'm on the right way.
Yes, I have stopped chasing impossible. But simply life got me in its steel squeeze ...on my testicals.
This definitely can take away all of fun from doing anything.
...
Well enough of crying. I will try my best to look for more fun from painting.
I had fun once. I can have it now.
Cheers!

I would imagine. However, I've found the wheel of live turns, once you are on the bottom, you are on the way up again. As for art, I look on it as a journey. Where do you go after you snap your fingers? That can be a problem, I think.

This finger thing it's not a problem for people who's doing real magic with art.
Unfortunately for me I watch mostly the people who's doing the magic...
So...
But seriously you got point. Maybe I have to redefine my distorted thinking about doing art.

Btw. I really enjoy the talk.

Speaking for myself, I don't really care to
use to much shadow, especially if the scene
is particularly colorfull, Its not that i can't do it, i just don't like it, even if its not very realistic, Unless of course your
going for a noir feel or nighttime.

The heavy outlines give it a pre-production
look, Like its not yet ready, its fine as it
is, just looks like your still working on it.

Did you look at the version on my blog without the lines? Boring... I can get away without a lot of detail in the fog or in the half light of dawn or dusk, but in the harsh glare of the midday sun, I don't have enough detail to pull things off, without an outline.
