“You sure you’re going to be okay?”

Misae rolled her eyes, and huffed. “Yes, Dré! I’ll be fine. You act like this is the first time I’ve been alone!”

André sighed softly: so softly, in fact, that it wasn’t audible. “Do not roll your eyes at me.

"I'm sorry, Mon Petit Soleil. I just worry that something will happen while I'm on a road trip. They have not attacked in a while, you know?”

“André Phillipe. I’m fine. I’m going to BE fine.” She started fiddling with the ring on her left hand. “The Golden Soldier and The Silver Soldier haven’t attacked since we graduated.”

I know, André thought, fiddling with the matching ring on his left hand. That’s why I’m so worried.

Misae changed the subject. “You got a game tomorrow. You should get some sleep.”

“You have an eight o’clock class. You should get some sleep, also.”

In her head, Misae could almost see the smirk on André’s face, and the way his dark brown eyes narrowed when he was being just as obstinate as she was. “Fine. I’ll call you after class.”

“Okay. I love you, Misae.”

“I love you too, Dré.”

After they hung up, Misae stared at the jersey hanging up on her wall. Meanwhile, André picked up a silver frame, which held their wedding picture. Almost instantly, they both started to think about the same thing, which was the first time Misae transformed…

“Théodore, heads up!”

André didn’t need a reminder. Not only was it his first start, but it was his first game with the Phantoms. His nerves were on edge, his sole focus was on the puck. It was a familiar feeling, one he enjoyed. He was determined to make a good impression.

It was the same with Misae, only the pressure on her was greater. She was one of the first females to play in the USHL. She was determined to show that girls could play major junior hockey, and play it well.

She was behind their net, looking for an open teammate to pass the puck to. She didn’t have much time, as there was a Lincoln player flying towards her at full force, preparing to slam her hard in to the boards. However, one of her teammates had just gotten free, and was starting to skate towards them.

“Gauche!” André yelled out the French word for “left”, praying that not only did Misae know what he said, but that the large man heading towards her didn’t. She’d spied the open teammate, and sailed the puck to him and braced for the impact.

Instead, the opposing player stopped dead. He turned pale, gulped, and skated the other way completely. Both Misae and André tilted their head to the side for a brief second before they saw why the guy ran.

Their opponent saw the reflection of the large creature on the ice. If you could even call it that. It was a human-sized piece of popcorn, and it was starting to tear the other end of the ice apart.

A sane person would start running away from a giant sized, animate popcorn kernel with large teeth. In fact, that’s what everyone, including the other players, did. Misae, however, started skating as fast as she could towards it, holding her stick like a bat. “HOW DARE YOU INTERRUPT MY GAME!”

André, however, was torn. He was too young and pretty to be eaten by a giant snack. However, so was Misae. Eventually, his loyalty towards his teammate overpowered his survival instincts, and he started skating after her.

That was when she transformed for the first time. Her hockey jersey turned in to her sailor fuku, and her stick turned in to the Solar Flail.

It had been an interesting three years since the first attack. Misae developed her powers, and they both developed their talent. Also, what started at just a friendship grew further, leading to their marriage shortly after they graduated.

Sometimes it was hard being married, with Misae going to school while André was playing hockey professionally. But, they managed. Facing two aliens bent on destruction tends to create a strong bond. It was almost as if they had known each other in a past life.

That was closer to the truth than either one of them imagined.

Thank you! And, at least Alexis is no longer the only male (even if André is married)?

Alexis will be pleased, the male population of SMV had just doubled. Bros by default?

And André is an unintentional flirt, to boot (although he calls it "Being chivalrous".) Those poor, poor boys.

Good job! I really like both Misae and André's personalities, especially with how they play off of each other! Can't wait to see what you have in store for SMV!
