In a world where love loses ground everyday to the dark forces of hate and loneliness... Only one hope remains.

Kama is your usual happy go round teen... except he's on on a vital mission : bring back love to people around the world. He has to work undercover to bring together new couples or else humanity is doomed. If that wasn't enough, treacherous fiends roam the world to eat away lovely feelings, ruining any hard-working little cupid's efforts! His only allies : his cuckoo pal Deva and his magical bow and arrows.

Can Kama take on the strenuous task of matchmaking and fight the forces of evil, all the while having to make sure no humans ever discover his true nature? Only time will tell!

Bwahahah... XD I seriously had -way- too much fun writing that. This is my entry for MangaBullet's Valentine contest. At first, I didn't feel all that inspired; I felt that little butt-naked cupids and gorgeous angels with arrows were a bit overdone. Suddenly, it struck me : what if Cupid was a Shonen Jump hero? That spark lit a gigantic fire, and Kama was born!

I based his whole concept on cupid's Hindu counterpart : Kamadeva. It's amazing to see the similarities between those two love deities, and Kamadeva had a lot more symbolism to work with.

Kama's design was always being considered from a Jump-ish point of view, hence the focus on fighting capabilities. Wings sprout out of his magical shoes as needed, and so do his bow and arrows, which quietly rest in his gloves when they're not needed. I picture Deva, the little bird, as comic relief : altough cute, he's ironic, bossy and always has something to say about anything.

All of the concept around Kama and it's possible world came flying as I was working on the drawing, and now, I REALLY feel like doing at least a one-shot of this concept. This could be WAY too much fun... XD
