So here's a test I did for my Midna cloak to determine where to place the designs, and how big/small to make them.
The actual cloak is real, I just took a picture of the back designs of the cloak from the actual Midna model, then laid it over the back of mine in Adobe Fireworks.I feel bad for not working on her more, so I figured I give you guys atleast something to look at for right now. I finally gots my dressform, so I can FINALLY finish the damn cloak!

Hello! So sorry for the late reply. I recommend using a medium weight fabric, linen would work nicely.

Sadly, I never actually finished her.. I gained weight and got severely out of shape when I moved away from Cali, so I lost interest. But! I'm really itching to get back and finish her though!

great reference photo, but to actually paint it on would be the hard part...

Oh yes, it's a pain..
Hmm, you should try contact paper. That way you get really clean lines and the stencil won't move.

Can I ask you, did you use fabric paint on the back of the cloak, or if not then what??

This isn't really painted, it's a shopped pic.
I highly recommend Jacquard brand fabric paints.

I could comment on them all, but I'll reserve it for just one. The progress on your Midna is amazing. She's one of my favourite characters ever, especially in her true form and I can't WAIT to see this done!

Nicely done, now that looks better than the actual texture in the game (Nintendo did a poor job of making high quality texturing in ZTP)

Thank you. I really wish Nintendo had taken a little bit more time to flesh out the details with the TP models. Goodness, you open them up in 3ds max, and wow are they crappy.

yeah, Nintendo should of put a better GPU in the Wii, "780p HD" on wii doesn't look that HD at all.

I agree, when I found out the Wii had the same graphics as the GC, I lost most interest in buying one.

Yeah, the Wii is a modified Gamecube hardware
-Added Bluetooth
-Increase clocking timing in the PowerPC CPU
-Same DSP as the GCN
-Wireless Ethernet
-Removed the Serial and BBA ports
-Added SD Card Reader
-port to power the sensorbar (2 infrared LEDS in a strip of plastic)
-Support Full size DVDs and Dual Layer DVDs (DVD9))
-Different BIOS/IPL for Wii games
-Wii games use an fancier opening.bnr (banner file) that can show animations, play music, etc.
-USB port added
-Fancier Firmware with Management Tools and other junk
-The GPU might of been improved (not sure)
-Support to playback DVD videos
-Uses a masterkey to decrypt the discs
-And changes to how the casing looks
-Increased RAM
They both still use same audio, and graphics system. I only wanted the Wii to play ZTP and Metroid Prime 3, and other Wii games that might be good. I wasn't too interested in the wiimote because that thing can be a pain to aim.

Wow, that's actually kinda sad, but not that surprising. I also noticed that the graphics for TP were much more hidef in the earlier stages, I wonder why they changed it.

I know, same here. Just look up Teaser TP trailers on youtube. It's just sad how much lower the graphics and everything was by the time they released it. I think the main problem was that in order for them to get TP done in time for it to be the release title for the Wii, they had to rush production.

I was going to have a life size printout, but it came out way too big, so I'm free-handing the design in chalk, then painting over it.
